For over five years, he has found solace within the nurturing walls of our Coimbatore rehab facility, a sanctuary that has provided him with a much-needed respite from the storms of life.
Originally from the picturesque village of Somanur in Coimbatore district, Eswaran’s life took a harrowing turn when leprosy mercilessly infiltrated his world at the age of 42. Once a loving husband and father, his diagnosis left him deserted, yearning for the life he once knew. Eswaran had been a skilled handloom weaver, weaving intricate patterns with dexterity and pride. But alas, the ravages of leprosy and subsequent reconstruction surgeries on his legs rendered him incapable of pursuing the art that had once been his livelihood.
Despite the glimmer of hope provided by leprosy treatment, the emergence of ulcers on his weary legs led to yet another hospital admission. Abandoned by his own family in his darkest hour, Eswaran carried his burdens in silence, feeling that nobody truly understood his pain. It was during this time of utter despair that compassionate doctors recognized his agony and recommended our hospice in Coimbatore as a sanctuary for his shattered spirit.
Within the comforting walls of our hospice, Eswaran’s transformation commenced. Slowly but surely, the barriers around his heart began to crumble, and he found solace in sharing the fragments of his life’s tapestry with our empathetic staff. Encouraged by ceaseless prayers and unwavering support, Eswaran felt the gentle touch of healing seep into his weary bones. Gradually, he regained the strength to walk and tend to his daily needs.
Two years later, Eswaran emerged from the depths of despair as a beacon of resilience and hope. Fully restored, he yearned to give back to the place that had been his refuge, our rehab facility. Today, with a heart brimming with joy, he tends to the goats and fish, embracing the simple pleasures of life alongside fellow patients who have become his newfound family.
