Your generosity has fueled our expansion efforts – Thank you!
Can you imagine not knowing where your next meal will come from?
Or wonder where you’ll find the money for medication or bandages?
Or where you’ll sleep because you’re welcome nowhere?
These are the types of stressors that leprosy patients deal with daily, but through your generosity, we’re able to meet so many of these needs and alleviate this stress for countless individuals and families.
We’d like to introduce you to Sokkamma, who was just 17 years old when she found out she had leprosy. She lost all of her friends, and villagers thought she was a curse. She lost fingers and toes, and when she recalls her earlier life, it’s filled with pain and sorrow.
Sokkamma remembers longing to work one or two days a week at a local farm to somehow survive. Life was nearly unbearable, and then she met Embrace a Village.
Now she doesn’t have to worry about where her next meal will come from or how she’ll afford shoes so she can walk. Today, Sokkamma can rest easy, because she knows that we will be with her for the rest of her life.
She recently got sized for some new custom shoes that will protect her feet from further damage.
And as you can tell, she loves them!
We long to help more people like Sokkamma. Our goal in 2022 is to expand into other regions so that people affected by leprosy in remote villages can receive quality care through our medical and shoe van.
We are hoping to survey the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh very soon. We’d like to assess the medical needs and who needs ongoing ulcer care, how many require hospice care, and how many have emergency needs. We will also survey how many families need assistance, and how many children would benefit from our tutoring program.
We will continue to keep you updated on our findings. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many through your giving. Through your generosity, we’ve been able to offer life-saving solutions to those we serve. You are helping us make a huge Kingdom impact. Thank you.
