Can you imagine a day when there will be no more sickness or pain? We get so excited dreaming about that day partly because, in our line of ministry, we see a lot of pain and a lot of sickness.

But we also see a lot of miracles.

It’s a beautiful tension we get to walk in…but seeing so many people hurting so deeply makes our hearts long for Heaven and the day when all of our friends will be healed from leprosy.

But the interesting thing about leprosy is this:

Leprosy isn’t a disease that only gets healed in Heaven – it can be healed here on earth too!

And healing is a dream that we have for EVERY ONE of our patients. We long for each of our patients to receive proper medical treatment and experience the radical love of Jesus and be healed from the inside out.

Because here at EAV, we believe that every person with leprosy should have:

  • Access to proper medical care
  • Access to basic nutritional needs
  • An ongoing opportunity to know and receive the love of God
  • Experience unconditional love from our staff and team
  • And discover their purpose and destiny

That’s why our recent Greenhouse project has been so dear to our hearts.

Why? Because it plays a small role in a big picture vision of bringing soul level healing to those affected with leprosy.

The food we will grow will provide proper nourishment for our patients so that their bodies can get strong and heal from this disease. And it will provide employment opportunities for our rehabilitated patients. For many, this will be their first job and the first time in their life where they feel like they have some purpose.

Can you imagine what that must be like for someone who has been told they are worthless all of their life that THEY are worthy of a job? That THEY have PURPOSE?

Most of us might have a hard time relating to not having a sense of purpose or not being able to find a job and provide for our families. In our western culture, we are given so many choices that it’s hard to choose which one is the right fit! But for our friends in India, choices and opportunities are often few and far between.

Working at our sustainable impact farms is a tangible way for rehabilitated patients to experience purpose and learn to walk in their God-given destiny. A lot of love, faith, and some confidence does miraculous things in the hearts and souls of our dear friends.

We can’t help but wonder if God’s heart is smiling as He watches His kids discover that they have value and worth – that they are seen and heard – and most of all LOVED.

That’s something money simply can’t buy and we know that. So if we can use the greenhouse (and our other initiatives like the goats, fish, and chickens) as the vehicle to help our friends discover purpose and dignity, then we’ll talk about greenhouses and chickens and goats all day long!

This greenhouse project is so much more than a structure. It’s a symbol of hope.

So let’s talk about the greenhouse details! It’s such a fun project and we have so much to share with you from pictures of what it currently looks like at our base, to what we are growing and our vision for the future!

The picture above is of our Azolla plants. We use this to feed our chickens and goats! We also grow ladyfingers, eggplant, green beans, chili peppers, lettuce, bananas, tapioca, carrots, beetroot and more for our patients and staff members!

Our new greenhouse will also provide food for the 200 chickens, 74 ducks, and 25 goats in our care. We have big vision for this greenhouse and are excited to get it built.

Here’s a peek at our Hydroponic Fodder.

We are trusting that God is going to provide the funds needed to build a proper greenhouse and we ask you to prayerfully consider joining our efforts.

Will you donate to our Greenhouse Project?
